About The Three Horseshoes

Heritage and hospitality, rooted in tradition.

The Three Horseshoes, formerly known as The Lickfold Inn, has stood at the heart of the village for centuries. A true country pub filled with history, warmth and good company.

Today, the pub is owned and run entirely by people who live in Lickfold, passionate about keeping it a thriving hub for the community. We’re proud to serve great food, offer genuine hospitality and provide a welcoming space where locals and visitors can feel right at home.

Inside, you’ll find open fires, cosy corners and character in every beam; outside, our west-facing terrace and garden make the most of the sunshine. From relaxed weekday lunches to family celebrations and evenings by the bar. Our aim is simple;  happy guests, good food and a proper village atmosphere.

Our History

Our Traditional Country Pub

Steeped in history and nestled in the heart of the South Downs National Park, the Three Horse Shoes offers a warm welcome, 16th-century charm and the very best in seasonal, home-cooked, classic cuisine.

Everything you would hope for in a traditional country pub and much, much more.

A one-time coaching inn, the stunning building retains a host of its original features, including timber frame, distinctive herringbone brickwork and open fireplace.

What better place to enjoy a fine local ale, a glass or two from our carefully selected wine list or a tipple from our extensive range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

With an eye on the present as well as the past, we offer the comfort, cuisine and service that today’s discerning diners and pub-goers have come to expect.

Locally Sourced & Organic Food

We are constantly buying and helping local businesses and organic farmers, with locally sourced produce.

Our Restaurant

Boasting charm, character and ambience to make any visit a memorable one.

Dating back more than four centuries, the stunning building offers a host of unique and welcoming dining options, with the elegant restaurant spread across two character-filled floors and featuring an array of original features including welcoming log fire and historic exposed timbers.

To enjoy the great outdoors, why not head for the scenic surroundings of our delightful terrace and garden?

Whether you’re seeking an intimate setting for that special romantic occasion, a celebratory meal with family and friends, a vibrant space for a larger gathering, or just a fine meal to remember, the Three Horseshoes offers an irresistible choice.
